The Wapello County Board of Supervisors approved several routine personnel and payroll actions and received departmental reports.
Motions to approve payroll requests for the recorder’s office, a change of employment within the sheriff’s department (a jailer moving to the kitchen), new hires for sheriff’s jail staff and other standard payroll items were each moved, seconded and approved with recorded “Aye” votes. Supervisors also noted a second jail position was approved and welcomed the new staff.
The board received a yearly report from the Department of Agriculture – a roadside manager update on chemicals used – and accepted the report by motion. The treasurer’s 2025 investment report was presented and approved by a motion and second; one motion in the record lacked an audible second but the minutes show approval by roll call.
Other routine business included a motion to adjourn at the meeting’s close.
