The Wapello County Board of Supervisors approved the county’s stop-loss insurance renewal and elected to maintain the individual deductible level at $150,000 per covered employee, preserving plan benefits for members.
Staff reviewed renewal options at $150,000, $175,000 and $200,000 deductibles and recommended retaining the $150,000 level based on prior work-session discussion and the county’s GASB 75 reporting and upcoming actuarial opinions. A supervisor moved to approve the recommended option; the motion was seconded and passed with recorded “Aye” votes.
Board members acknowledged the renewal does not change plan benefits for covered members and that staff will complete renewal paperwork.
