The Wapello County Board of Supervisors approved a motion to appoint a proposed first assistant county attorney for the county attorney’s office.
During discussion a supervisor noted the deputy position had been eliminated and that this appointment is a new position. Board members welcomed the appointee and said the change was expected to assist with staffing and inmate-population issues in the sheriff’s office. The motion to approve the appointment was moved, seconded and approved by unanimous vote.
No salary or contract terms were read into the record during the meeting.
