Parent asks board to raise per‑student cap for school trips, citing music tour funding needs

He told the board the district’s policy currently limits the in‑district per‑student trip cost to $7.50, a figure he said dates from 1986, and asked the board to act now so families have time to fundraise for the spring trip.
“It's currently $7.50, which is from 1986,” Brenner said. He asked the board to raise the limit to reflect current costs so students can participate in the planned trip.
Board members thanked Brenner for raising the issue and indicated they would follow up with the administration to identify the relevant policy and determine how to adjust the cap if appropriate.
