Kelly said New Canaan Junior cheerleading has agreed to participate and that organizers will run a school-age contest to encourage fundraising. “Whoever can raise the most, they’re gonna win, you know, get to be a police officer for a day, get a ride to school kind of prize in the end,” Kelly said. The commission discussed logistics for safety at the location where Elm Street briefly splits and noted coordination with town staff; Kelly said she had spoken with “Tucker at town hall” while finalizing details.
