Board OKs three-year Cisco licensing and Rubrik backup renewals totaling about $181,000

The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved two IT contracts on Oct. 21: a three-year Cisco Collaboration Flex license purchased through reseller Total Communications for $156,199.04, and a Rubrik backup and cloud-vault purchase through CDW-G for $24,948.48.
An IT representative explained the Cisco contract covers collaboration licensing and that the town owns its on-premises hardware; the award is for managed licensing and support. The three-year total will be paid in equal annual installments of $52,066.34 each fiscal year.
The IT presenter said the town reviewed alternatives and pushed Cisco’s reseller for better pricing after an initial 18% proposed increase. The vendor ultimately presented a three-year option with a net decrease compared with the earlier quote; the town and Board of Education and other shared users agreed to stay on the system for three years to avoid fragmented support.
For the backup solution, the board approved a Rubrik renewal and purchase of Rubrik Cloud Vault through CDW-G for $24,948.48. IT said the team trimmed expected costs compared with earlier estimates and favored a shorter-term contract to retain flexibility.
Both motions passed unanimously.
Implementation: IT will handle contractor onboarding and schedule payments according to the three-year payment schedule.
