Fortuna forwards transit hearing recording to HCOG after public comments on pedestrian access

During the hearing, resident Charles Wilson commented at length about pedestrian access along state highways in Humboldt County and said Caltrans policies and signage effectively prohibit pedestrians from using some highway corridors between communities. Wilson urged better pedestrian connections between communities and criticized state policies that he said limit walking access.
After closing the public hearing, a council member moved to forward the council meeting recording link to HCOG for SSTAC review; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Staff did not report any other specific transit requests during the Fortuna hearing; the council's forwarding directs HCOG staff to consider the recording and any comments contained therein as part of HCOG's unmet transit-needs process.
