Commissioners approve restoration of several nonprofit contracts and related budget transfers

Jefferson County commissioners on June 17 approved amendments to restore funding for five noncounty agency contracts and authorized related budget transfers to accommodate assessments and a returned grant payment.
Deputy County Manager Kate Newman told the board that, following passage of ballot measure 1A, staff were restoring several contracts to prior-year levels. The five contracts identified in the briefing were Action Center, Family Tree, Jefferson Center for Mental Health, Senior Resource Center, and Via Mobility. Newman said the restorations return each contract to its 2024 funding level.
Staff further requested a budget transfer of $145,000 from the commissioners’ budget to fund those contract increases and to cover variable IGA assessment overages from partners (North Fork Fire, DRCOG and Foothills Animal Shelter were cited as assessments that affected available budget lines). Newman said the county also received $16,140 after the Rocky Flats Stewardship Council was dissolved and requested a supplemental appropriation to spend that returned amount.
Commissioners recorded unanimous support for the requested contract amendments, budget transfer and the supplemental appropriation; staff said they will proceed with the contract documents and associated budget adjustments.
Staff noted additional noncounty contracts remain under review for possible restoration but that these five were the first set ready for amendment and execution.
