The Harnett County Board of Commissioners approved budget amendments and approved tax rebates, refunds and releases during its Oct. 20 meeting.
During the county manager’s report the manager asked the board for approval of budget amendments and tax refunds. A commissioner moved to approve the budget amendments “as requested by the finance officer”; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. A separate motion to approve tax rebates, refunds and releases “as requested by the tax administrator” was also moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
No roll-call vote or numerical tally was recorded in the meeting transcript; the board adopted both items by voice vote with the chair announcing “ayes have it.” The transcript does not record further detail on the content of the budget amendments or the individual tax refund line items.
The county manager also reminded commissioners there will be no meeting the following week and that the next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 3.
These actions were routine approvals requested by county staff; the transcript contains no amendment language or staff reports attached to the motions.
