The City of Kalispell on Oct. 20 approved multiple consent-agenda and finance items by unanimous roll call.
Items on the consent agenda that passed included:
- Ordinance 1946 (second reading): a zoning text amendment allowing residential eaves to extend up to 2 feet into setback areas (second reading approved as part of consent agenda).
- Award: Tandem axle dump truck and plow — bid awarded to Missoula State Truck Center in the amount of $239,995.
- Award: 20-cubic-yard leaf vacuum trailer — bid awarded to Normont Equipment Company in the amount of $179,520.
- Award: Lower Zone Storage Tank Replacement Reservoir 2 — bid awarded to Preload LLC in the amount of $7,040,000.
Separately, the council authorized participation in a Montana Board of Investments loan program for the purchase of a front-load solid waste truck. Resolution 6297 authorizes the city manager to execute documents for a Board of Investments loan in the amount of $416,900, with terms up to five years and an adjustable annual rate (staff indicated up to 5% annual interest depending on adjustments). The council voted unanimously to approve the loan authorization.
All consent-agenda items were moved and approved without further public comment. The roll call votes recorded Councilor Dowd, Councilor Dahlmann, Councilor Fisher, Councilor Hunter, Councilor Nunnally, Councilor Carlson and Mayor Johnson voting aye on the consent agenda items and the loan resolution.
