Millis Select Board ratifies three full‑time Millis Fire Department appointments

The board voted unanimously to ratify each appointment and conducted an on‑record swearing‑in during the meeting.
The fire chief explained the candidates were selected following a promotional exam and an assessment center earlier in the year and noted the new EMS coordinator role is a new position within the department. The chief described Ryan Smith as a Millis resident and the son of the town clerk, and said Smith completed paramedic training. Board members congratulated the appointees, pinned badges and administered the oath of office at the meeting.
Motions to ratify the appointments were moved and seconded and passed without objection; the board later recessed briefly to swear the three employees in together.
