Public Works to close road for Baskerville culvert Nov. 12; commissioners approve Magellan burial permit

Jesse Wall, Linn County public works director, told commissioners on Oct. 20 that crews will begin the Baskerville culvert project on Wednesday, Nov. 12, with road closure through that weekend and the culvert set the following week on Nov. 17; Wall said the project should be wrapped up the following Wednesday or Thursday. He said he had contacted Prairie View School District and that the roadway work would not affect the district.
Wall also briefed commissioners on other road and facility work: crews completed patching on Jareau near Parker, planned additional patching on Tiger Road outside Pleasanton, expected the courthouse Justice Center roof contractor to start Nov. 22, and planned to begin landfill perimeter berm work Nov. 3. He said new landfill trucks are tentatively scheduled to be built beginning in mid‑February and that salt and tire bids will be solicited soon.
On permits, Wall presented burial permit number 2025‑16 from Magellan Pipeline (Magellan) and the board voted to approve it. A motion to approve the permit was made, seconded and recorded as approved with affirmative votes; the transcript does not record named movers or a roll‑call tally.
