Brookings school board declines to set special meeting on city land collaboration; members debate timing and public input

The Brookings School District 05-1 board debated whether to call a special session to discuss its collaboration with the city over district land assets and obligations related to Hillcrest School, but a motion to schedule a special meeting before the city’s Nov. 3 public forum failed on a roll call vote.

At the workshop, a board member moved "to add a special meeting to just discuss our collaboration based on our land assets, and that relationship with the city."
