Board accepts roughly $14,000 in donations supporting band, athletics, early learning and industrial arts

The Sartell‑St. Stephen School Board on Oct. 20 accepted donations totaling several thousand dollars to support school programs across the district.
Matt (board member; reading the donation list) presented the donations. Notable items the board approved included: $2,842 from the Tony and Elsie Dingman Fund to the Sartell High School band program; $2,225 in hockey jerseys from the Sartell Playmaker Association to the high school hockey program; multiple gifts from the Saint Cloud Optimist Club (including $1,500 for adaptive equipment and $2,000 for a student‑council school store at Riverview, plus two $3,000 gifts to Oak Ridge early‑learning programs for ECFE literacy and kindergarten sensory materials); $500 from the Sartell Area Youth Basketball Association to support boys basketball tryouts; $3,457 from the Sartell All Sports Booster Club for girls soccer uniforms and backpacks; a $500 student donation (presented without student name in the public record); and an in‑kind donation of industrial arts materials valued at $558 from Wilkie Sanderson.
The motion to accept the donations was made by Jen Smith and seconded by Emily; the board approved the list by voice vote. The board thanked donors and acknowledged the role community contributions play in supplementing district programs.
The acceptance does not change district policy on gifts or create ongoing commitments beyond the stated uses; donors’ intended uses were read into the record and will be applied to the named programs.
