The IU also recognized student achievement through an Inspire award presented to Aidan Morton Capoza, described in the report as a Pocono Mountain student who attends a hearing support classroom at Liberty.
One specific operational change described was the creation of an IU-run cafe designed to give students practical career training and exposure; the report said Chick-fil-A joined that effort to provide career training opportunities for students at the IU’s main office location.
Board members were informed that the IU’s advisory committee includes multiple community members and that NOCTE (career and technical education) scores have shown improvement over the past three years. The IU’s next meeting was listed as Oct. 22 in the report to the board.
