Christopher Inglesey, deputy county administrator, presented the ordinance and said the county had not increased hangar rents in several years. "Rent is proposed to go up from $2.75 to $2.85," Inglesey said, and the proposed lease adds an automatic 2% annual increase going forward. He said the updated lease and rates were revised after review by the county attorney and with input from the airport commission and an outside consultant.
Inglesey said the update is intended to give aircraft owners notice ahead of a January implementation date. The county sought approval of first reading to provide at least 30 days' notice by Dec. 1 before the proposed rent change would take effect in January.
Council moved and seconded approval of the first reading; the motion was approved by voice/hand vote. The transcript does not record a roll-call tally.
