Erlanger announced on Sept. 2 that Lauren Gross has been hired as the city's community engagement coordinator and started work the same day.
City Administrator Mark Collier told the council Gross comes from FC Cincinnati, where she worked about four years in events and grassroots promotions. Collier said she had a packed first day meeting public-works, police and fire staff and that she will begin outreach to staff and the community immediately.
"She is going to start reaching out, to engage with staff, members, and the community, and that's truly why this position was needed," Collier said. The council welcomed the hire during the meeting.
Collier said Gross will be based in a new office and will work on event coordination and community outreach; he framed the position as important to city-staff engagement and resident-facing programs. The hire was announced as an informational item; no formal vote was recorded.
-- Ending: Council members welcomed Gross and noted she had begun work that day.
