City opens new Public Works campus; staff move-in underway, public tours planned

City Manager Eric King announced that the new Public Works campus is complete and that staff have begun phased move-ins. King said the 35-acre campus will house about 250 staff, consolidate fleet and operations buildings, and provide an intersection lobby space designed for collaboration and public meetings. "We have our headquarter building. We have 250 staff there," King said.
King described elements of the campus: a fleet building with vehicle lifts, an operations building, a public lobby called “the intersection,” public-art elements and outdoor patios. He said the facility is designed to improve safety and operational readiness—particularly for winter-response work—and to provide flexible meeting space for community events and staff town halls.
King said the remaining divisions will complete moves in phases and that an employee open house is planned for November; he offered council tours in small groups.
