Siskiyou County air district adopts fiscal 2025-26 budget, authorizes auditor to establish numbers

The Siskiyou County Air Pollution Control District board voted to adopt its final budget for fiscal year 2025-26 and authorized the county auditor to establish the budget after a public hearing that drew no public comment.

District staff member Mr. Smith presented the budget and asked the board to approve it; he told the board, “I would request that you, approve our budget from the next year.” No written correspondence or testimony was filed with the clerk and no members of the public spoke at the hearing.

The board opened the public hearing, heard the staff presentation and closed the hearing before taking action. A motion to adopt the budget and authorize the auditor was made and seconded; several directors responded “Aye” when the roll was called. One director recused and did not vote; the remaining directors voted in favor, and the motion carried.

The board noted procedural rules for public comment at the start of the hearing: speakers are allowed three minutes each and written comments may be submitted by providing a minimum of seven copies to the clerk. After the vote the board briefly confirmed the record of who was seated at the table and then adjourned.
