Fabens ISD approves federally funded instructional purchases and a local data platform exceeding $15,000

Fabens ISD trustees approved July 16 a slate of purchases exceeding $15,000, the administration said, including federally funded instructional renewals and a locally funded data-management platform.
Assistant superintendent/administrative presenters told the board the purchases include Summit K–12 (bilingual program), Edgenuity (high-school credit recovery), and RethinkEd (counseling curriculum). Those items were described as renewals funded with federal dollars that will carry the district through the current federal funding period, which presenters said runs through Sept. 30 of next year.
The board also approved a locally funded purchase of Eduphoria, the district’s data-tracking and employee-evaluation platform. The presenter said district assessment, teacher evaluation and state-assessment uploads are handled in Eduphoria and that staff successfully migrated data from the prior system.
The administration recommended approval of the purchases as presented; trustees approved the motion by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Presenters noted the federal funding pause that has been reported elsewhere but said Fabens ISD currently has sufficient funds to complete the renewals through the stated funding period.
No contract dollar amounts were presented during the public presentation; presenters said funding for the instructional products is included in the district improvement plan and that the Eduphoria purchase is locally funded.
