Greenville County Council reappointed two applicants to the Boiling Springs Fire District commission by acclamation at a committee-of-the-whole meeting.
Cedric Brown, who described 12 years as a commissioner and previous volunteer firefighting service, and Steven (Steve) Knapp, who said he brings accounting and governance experience, were the only applicants for two vacancies. A council member moved to elect both applicants by acclamation; the motion passed on a voice vote and the council announced the appointments.
Brown told council he has lived in the district since 1988 and currently works in operations at Prisma Health. He stressed familiarity with operational needs and budget oversight. Knapp said he has a background in accounting and finance and cited governance and strategic experience that he said would benefit the district.
Councilors made no operational or budget decisions for the fire district at this meeting; staff will record the reappointments in official records.
