A council member noted those seats have been open for a while and suggested reopening the pool. Councilors approved a motion to keep the vacancy pool open for one month to seek more qualified applicants.
The council did not change the board’s qualifications or membership requirements; the decision instead extends recruitment time to find applicants who meet the construction board’s professional criteria. Staff will continue to accept applications during the extension and report back to council.
No changes to the board’s procedures or appeal processes were taken at the meeting.
