Greenville County’s finance committee approved two grant applications presented on the agenda: a $50,000 Petco Love award for the county animal‑care division and a $20,000 Duke Energy grant for the Emergency Management Division to purchase swift‑water dry suits.
Miss Paris, a county presenter, described the Petco Love grant as “a grant that has been awarded from Petco Love for $50,000 for bridal care services division and the award, the project would, be used for off-site pet adoptions and then also, for in shelter pet enrichment which basically includes some essential supplies … and there's no match.” The committee moved and approved the Petco Love award by voice vote.
Later on the agenda, staff described a Duke Energy grant application for $20,000 for swift‑water dry suits to equip the county’s emergency‑response team. Pierce Womack from Emergency Management was identified as present for questions. The committee approved that grant by voice vote; staff said no local match is required.
