Resident complains Lawrence Electric tree-trimming practices killed trees and left debris

Diane Breeland, speaking as a homeowner from 413 Heather Falls Lane in Simpsonville, told Greenville County Council on June 3 that trimming work performed under contract by Lawrence Electric and its subcontractor Asplund resulted in damaged and dying trees, cut limbs left on private property and visible tree "butchering" along local roads.
Breeland said crews placed a "drop zone" flag on her property and left cut branches on top of smaller trees rather than removing them; she told the council she had to hire someone to remove branches herself. She said the supervisor who visited described the work as "ugly" but indicated the company could not afford more frequent, careful trimming. She described leftover debris as a fire hazard and said dead trees were visible along McKinney Road.
No formal county action was proposed at the meeting. Breeland asked the council to investigate and find a solution to what she described as recurring destructive trimming practices by the contractor.
