Committee holds proposed text amendment to Paris Mountain environmentally sensitive district

Planning staff presented the current wording and the proposed replacement text and said the change “would refocus the purpose behind the ESDPM zoning classification and could help guide future review of Paris Mountain,” and recommended approval. The Greenville County Planning Commission also recommended approval.
During discussion an attorney working with area residents asked the committee to hold the item because there is another related amendment pending and residents were “getting confused on which is which” and wanted the committee to consider both together. A motion to hold the item until the related amendment could be considered passed by voice vote.
Committee members recorded no additional conditions in the transcript. The item was placed on hold to be run concurrently with a related amendment when available for committee review.
