Consent agenda items approved without debate included: resolutions accepting streets into the town street system for maintenance; scheduling public hearings and certifying sufficiency for contiguous annexations (SASM LLC property at 0 Forestville Road; property associated with a new fire station; property at Burlington Mills Road); a resolution authorizing a change request to a joint development agreement with AGG Development for the South Franklin Street widening project; an amendment to Chapter 30 (Traffic and Vehicles) of the Town Code to prohibit parking at certain locations in a subdivision; and approval of appointments to citizen advisory boards. A motion to approve the consent agenda carried unanimously.
The board also authorized staff to carry out a purchase and sale agreement for approximately 0.4 acres downtown at 325 South White; that motion carried unanimously.
Finally, the board voted unanimously to go into closed session per North Carolina General Statutes (NCGS) 143‑318.11 subsections 5 and 6. The meeting adjourned following the closed session motion.
