Eisenhower student council presents projects; board hears spring events and student achievements

Oregon City — Student leaders from Eisenhower Intermediate School addressed the board on April 15 to describe recent service projects and upcoming school activities, and the board’s Good News segment highlighted spring concerts, academic achievements and extracurricular successes across the district.

Student council presentation: Students identified themselves by first name and grade and summarized projects the council completed this year, including a canned food drive that collected “over 2,000 cans,” a candy-gram fundraiser that raised “over $500,” motivational programs and participation in math and science night. Student speakers also described plans to recruit incoming fifth-graders, continue fundraisers, recognize scholars and stage StoryFest in May. “We will continue leading students and help them fly higher at Eisenhower Intermediate School,” one student said.

Good News report: The superintendent and board recognized school events and student achievements including state testing wrapping up that week, a high number of 1 ratings in band solo/ensemble (21 of 23 students received 1 ratings), a gymnastics state all-around champion (Caleb Parker), The Sound of Music production praised as superintendent’s favorite, and a variety of upcoming field trips and kindergarten open houses.
