Fritz identified a particular shortage of intervention specialists, saying the district has had more difficulty filling those roles because there are fewer recent university graduates in that specialty and less willingness among candidates to relocate from other districts. He said the district would continue its hiring efforts and noted a July 10 deadline for certified staff hires that could affect final counts.
The board acknowledged the scale of recent hires and discussed expected turnover tied to retirements and staff age in coming years; board members said the district should expect continued recruitment needs.
No formal personnel actions were taken in public session during the remarks; the board scheduled an executive session later in the meeting to discuss “appointment and dismissal” and said no further public action would follow from that session.
