Board hears treasurer and superintendent warn state budget decisions could affect district funding

Superintendent Fritz reiterated the point later in his remarks, saying staff were watching differences between the House and Senate proposals — described in the meeting as about 590 pages of differences — and that the district did not yet know whether proposed property tax relief or other education funding changes would be included in the final budget or in any separate legislation later in the summer.
Both speakers framed the discussion as informational; the board took no formal action on the budget item during the meeting.
The treasurer and superintendent said the district would communicate updates to the board and public as the state process advanced.
