Morristown council adopts compensation ordinance and residential permit-parking changes

The Town Council adopted two ordinances on Aug. 5. Ordinance O-28-2025, establishing compensation for certain officials and employees of the Town of Morristown, was adopted after the council opened and closed a public hearing with no public speakers. All voting council members voted yes during roll call.
Ordinance O-29-2025, amending Chapter 7 (Traffic), Section 7-17 (Residential Permit Parking), was also adopted after a public hearing with no speakers. Council members thanked the administration for assistance preparing the amendment and said the change would provide parking relief for a small neighborhood where permit parking was requested. The ordinance passed on recorded roll call with all members voting yes.
Both ordinances were adopted at the Aug. 5 meeting and will take effect according to the town’s ordinance-adoption rules; no additional amendments were made at adoption.
