The Euclid City Architectural Review Board continued consideration of a proposed covered, deck-like patio attached to the front of the dwelling at 20331 Wilmore and asked the applicant to return with additional documentation and material samples.
The applicant (Daniel Galadick; project represented by Mark Williams of Joyce Factory Direct) seeks approval for an approximately 84-square-foot covered patio attached to the front southeast corner of a 1.5-story home built in 1949. The proposed cover uses prefinished structural insulated panels with white anodized aluminum skins and foam core; the applicant indicated the material is a prefinished product with a manufacturer warranty.
Board members said the packet lacked key context: a complete front elevation showing how the new structure aligns with the existing building and stoop, clear rail and post locations and heights relative to grade, and how rainwater from the new cover will be handled (downspouts/leaders and discharge path). Several board members expressed concern that certain prefinished product samples might appear industrial if a very bright white finish is used and asked to see finished samples.
The applicant agreed to provide: a front elevation that includes the building up to the roofline, a drawing showing masonry top-of-wall elevation and deck elevation relative to grade, post and railing locations and heights, downspout/drainage details or connection plans, and samples of the prefinished panel and trim. The board continued the case to permit review of that information at a future meeting.
