The Euclid Board of Control on Tuesday, Sept. 2, approved an emergency sewer repair costing $170,393.43 and a series of equipment purchases, and announced that bids for the 2025 citywide street tree removal program will open at the board's Sept. 8 meeting.
The emergency repair, paid from the wastewater treatment fund, covered work to stabilize a failing sewer on Babbit Road. Neroni and Sons—identified in the meeting as the city's emergency contractor for that type of work—was authorized for the $170,393.43 payment. Board members voted to approve the requisition by voice.
Board members also approved a $5,200 purchase from Jerome Equipment from the general fund to replace heat pumps at City Hall and a $28,456 purchase from Warren Fire Equipment from the general fund to buy nine sets of protective turnout gear for the fire department. A requisition to Cleveland Plumbing Supply covered pumps, motors and materials for work on the HVAC system at Firehouse No. 1; the meeting transcript described that item as an "exceeds amount," but the precise dollar figure was not clearly stated in the record.
The board approved the minutes from its Aug. 25 meeting at the Sept. 2 session.
During the meeting the mayor announced that the board will open bids on Sept. 8 for the 2025 citywide street tree removal program. No motions or votes on the tree-removal program occurred at the Sept. 2 meeting; the announcement was procedural.
All listed requisitions were presented and approved by voice votes at the Sept. 2 Board of Control meeting. The board completed the agenda and adjourned after the purchases and announcement were handled.
