Board approves personnel hires and settles two construction lawsuits in closed session

The board also moved to approve settlement of two causes of action: Eagle Pass Independent School District v. Aguilar Construction GP LLC, Aguilar Constructions Inc., Aguilar Construction LP, Rainseal Master Roofing and Sheet Metal, Arias and Associates Inc., San Antonio Floor Finishers Inc., and Concrete FF Enterprises LLC d/b/a Concrete Floor Finishes, cause number 19-09-37839-MCV-AJA; and Eagle Pass Independent School District v. Leyendecker Constructions Inc. and LCI Inc. d/b/a Leyendecker Construction, cause number 19-09-37846-MCV-D-A. Trustee Victor Perry moved to approve the settlements; Trustee Tom Gonzalez seconded. The board voted unanimously to approve the settlements and recorded the approvals in open session.
The board’s closed-session notice cited Texas Government Code Chapter 551 — specifically sections related to hiring (TGC 551.074) and consultation with legal counsel (TGC 551.071). No settlement amounts or specific personnel hires were disclosed during the open session minutes.
