At the Town of Nashville MSC meeting on Aug. 25, a board member reported that additional hanging flower baskets approved earlier are up around downtown and said volunteers water them three times per week.
Randy, a board member, said the baskets are being watered "every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday" and that staff who water them "take pride in keeping these flowers up." Randy suggested, "I personally think next year, we should budget for more," noting that adding another dozen baskets would add roughly a half‑hour of watering time to crews' duties.
The group discussed placement: staff said some baskets were positioned to reduce the chance of being struck by semi trucks and that they would explore alternate placements during the off season so the flower, rather than the pole, is more visible to drivers.
Board members praised the volunteers who water the baskets and asked staff to consider additional placements and a budget request for the next year. No formal budget amendment was proposed or voted on during the meeting.
