The Town of Nashville accepted a donation of a 0.79-acre wooded lot along Stony Creek to add to Stoney Creek Environmental Park after council heard from staff that the parcel is in the 100-year flood plain and is landlocked with no known street frontage.
Staff described the property and noted that it abuts the park across the creek. "Miss Elaine Robinson and Patsy Smith own a 0.79 acre wooded lot along Stony Creek, that it abuts Stony Creek Environmental Park, separated by the creek itself," a staff presenter said. Staff also told council that the parcel lies in the floodway and 100-year flood plain and therefore cannot be developed, but that a town sanitary sewer main runs through the property — a reason staff recommended acceptance despite the lack of road frontage.
Council asked whether the lot bordered the previously discussed water-tower parcel; staff confirmed it does not. After a motion and second, the council voted to approve acceptance of the donation. The transcript records: "All those in favor, let it be known by saying aye. Aye. Motion carries."
Staff noted the parcel is landlocked, in a floodway, and without a known access easement from Clark Circle; the town will now own the parcel for recreation and conservation use as part of Stoney Creek Environmental Park. The transcript does not record any additional studies or immediate plans for public access improvements across the creek.
