Approvals included a district Memorandum of Understanding with Choice Health Network to provide behavioral-health access for students; a construction-management agreement with Ledesma & Meyer to support Measure J projects; consultant services with Leadership Associates for leadership development; and affiliation or partnership agreements with Claremont Graduate University, California State University, Los Angeles, and Grand Canyon University for field education. The board also approved Resolution No. 26‑1755 to reimburse teachers $100 each for required credential updates tied to state reporting.
Body
Dr. Hurst introduced the Choice Health Network agreement as a no-cost or low-cost partnership to expand student access to behavioral-health and related services. "We have a new agreement with Choice Health Network... this one will provide student access to behavioral health and related services," Dr. Hurst said during the agenda presentation. The board approved the MOU by majority voice vote.
On construction management, staff described the Ledesma & Meyer contract as the formal, multi‑prime construction-management agreement that will oversee bidding and coordination for Measure J projects. The board voted to ratify the agreement after staff answered questions about liquidated damages and change‑order reporting. A board member asked whether large change orders would return for board approval; staff said they would notify the board and bring large change orders for prior approval as needed.
Separately, the board approved agreements to host field education students from Claremont Graduate University and a partnership agreement with California State University, Los Angeles, and an affiliation agreement with Grand Canyon University for social‑work field placements.
Human resources and HR‑administrative staff presented a resolution to reimburse teachers who updated special‑education credentials that the state now requires in more detail. The district committed to reimbursing teachers for the $100 fee associated with a credential update. As HR described the action, "we made the commitment as a senior cabinet to go ahead and reimburse each teacher for the $100 cost that was related to the credential update," an administrator said.
Ending
Staff said they will return change‑order requests and significant contract amendments to the board for approval and will provide community graphics and timelines for construction projects after renderings and bid documents are finalized.
