Troy Planning Commission approves 15.34 sq. ft. sign for 103 West Main Street

The Troy Planning Commission on Sept. 10 approved a historical-district application to install a 15.34-square-foot building sign at 103 West Main Street, after Planning Department staff said the proposed sign complies with local design standards and the city sign code.

Planning Department staff told the commission the applicant’s proposed sign would be 15.34 square feet — within the 15.4-square-foot allowance — and would feature raised polymetal graphics or lettering that “does comply with the design manual section 5.4” and “does meet the City of Troy sign code.” Staff recommended approval.

Commission members moved and seconded approval during the meeting and approved the application by roll call. Commissioners Mulkey, Mayer, Drammrig and McGarry registered “yes” during the roll call that followed the motion; the chair announced the motion was approved.

The discussion on the item focused narrowly on the sign’s size and materials and whether it met the listed standards; no amendments or conditions were recorded. The meeting also approved minutes from the Aug. 27 meeting before taking the sign application and then adjourned.

The commission’s action is limited to the local historical-district application and sign-code compliance; no broader permits, funding decisions or implementation steps were recorded in the meeting minutes.
