The Randolph County Board of Education approved multiple academic and calendar items: an arts-proficiency diploma endorsement, the 2025–26 Randolph Early College High School calendar and a revised bell schedule for Southeastern Randolph Middle School.
District presenters said the arts-proficiency endorsement (effective beginning with the 2024–25 school year) allows students to earn an arts endorsement on the diploma by completing a minimum of four arts courses, earning a GPA of 3.0 or higher in each course, and logging at least 40 hours of board-approved arts-related extracurricular activities. The board packet included a list of eligible extracurricular activities that must be approved by the board.
The board also approved the Randolph Early College High School calendar for 2025–26; the calendar includes 180 student days, 14 teacher workdays and 11 holidays and aligns with Randolph Community College’s schedule, presenters said. Finally, the board approved a revision to Southeastern Randolph Middle School’s bell schedule for 2025–26 that adjusts the end-of-day time so the middle school aligns with other district bell schedules and to simplify scheduling for extracurriculars and athletics.
