Paradise board forwards Caesars Palace dayclub and signage proposals after questions about design details

The Paradise Town Advisory Board voted to approve preliminary staff conditions and forward two design-review requests for a proposed dayclub and related signage at Caesars Palace.
Rebecca Moultonberger, appearing on behalf of the applicant, described a proposed detached 46,000-square-foot dayclub and entertainment venue to be sited on a former parking lot at Caesars Palace. Moultonberger said the venue would be detached from the resort and connected by a pedestrian bridge over a private drive; bridge clearance was described as about 16 to 17 feet. The proposal includes a removable canopy over the pool deck, two main pools and two plunge pools, with 2,852 square feet of new pool area added by the project.
According to the project summary provided at the hearing, county code allows the property to have up to 49,508 square feet of pool area. The applicant said the property currently has 23,187 square feet of pool area; combined with the proposed addition the total would be 26,039 square feet — below the code maximum. The applicant also said landscaping would include 11 new trees and retention of three existing trees, meeting the county requirement of 14 trees for the project. No parking variances were requested and the applicant said existing garage parking would accommodate the project.
Item SDR250246 would add five new identification signs to the property’s comprehensive sign package, three facing Las Vegas Boulevard and others internal to the site; the applicant described the signs as LED screens and noted one proposed sign dimension of 32 by 10 feet. Board members repeatedly raised concerns that the application lacked photographic or detailed visual renderings showing how the LED screens would appear on the property; several members said it was difficult to complete a design review without detailed visuals. County staff recommended approval, and after discussion a board member moved to approve items DR250245 and SDR250246 with preliminary staff conditions. The motion passed by voice vote and the cases will proceed to county planning review.
No members of the public spoke on the item at the advisory-board hearing. Board members asked questions about access points, bridge placement, signage type (identification vs. advertising), and the absence of detailed graphics for the LED screens.
