Platte County commissioners on July 7 approved modifications to the county's senior tax-credit commission order and amended a printing and mailing contract to support outreach for the program.

County Administrator Wes Minder told the commission that the county clarified the homestead definition to include the county parcel identification number so the assessor and collector can administer the program. He also said language excluding seniors who were not current on taxes was removed from the county order to comply with the final state law.

Platte County Clerk Jera Pruitt said the county is amending a previously approved printing and mailing contract to increase the maximum contractual amount to $9,000 so the office can send additional or supplemental SB 190 program mailings if necessary; the auditor certified funds are available.

The commission approved both items on a 3-0 roll call.
