Council renews laboratory permit, approves temporary budget authorization and passes consent agenda 5-0

Hamilton Township Council voted unanimously to renew a laboratory permit for Green Analytics East LLC, approved emergency temporary budget authorizations and passed a 26-item consent agenda that included grants and donations.

The council approved Resolution 125-152, authorizing renewal of the township’s Canada-protecting laboratory permit (permit 1103TL-001001) to Green Analytics East LLC for the term June 18, 2025, through June 17, 2026. A member of the public asked for the laboratory’s address; an attendee said the facility is at “3535 Merciful Faker Ridge Road, Unit 101.”

Council members then moved to the consent agenda, which the president summarized as including two emergency temporary budget resolutions (CA 1 and CA 2), a youth basketball grant, donation of a vehicle to the Mercer County Fire Academy, an extension for an infrastructure fund project deadline, shared-services contracts, a brownfields cleanup grant for a Neapara property, and a grant application to purchase a second K-9 for the police department with training to aid missing-person searches. Council members described the K-9 program as drug-detection with added training for missing-person work.

On the temporary budget resolutions, council said the measures permit the township to fund operations while it finalizes the permanent 2025 budget; staff explained the temporary authorization allows funding at up to 60% of the previous year’s rates until the permanent budget is adopted in April or May and budget workshops are held. One resident asked what the $89,000,000 figure referenced on the consent agenda meant; council described the temporary authorization as a stopgap to avoid interrupting municipal services while the new budget is prepared.

All consent agenda items (CA 1 through CA 26) passed on a 5-0 voice vote. The motion to move Resolution 125-152 passed on a recorded roll call with all present council members voting yes.
