Woodbridge promotes Brian McMillan to lieutenant, Jorge Quesada to sergeant

Mayor John McCormick and the Woodbridge Township Council swore in two promotions at a June meeting in council chambers, elevating Sergeant Brian McMillan to lieutenant and Detective Jorge Quesada to sergeant.
The promotions recognized long service: McMillan is a 20-year Woodbridge Police Department veteran with assignments in patrol, training, the Internet Crimes Against Children task force and criminal investigations; Quesada is a 17-year department veteran, a U.S. Navy veteran and has served in criminal investigations and arson/scene investigation roles.
Police Director Joe Nisky said, “Both Brian and George deserved their promotions.” Nisky added McMillan’s nearly 20 years of service and Quesada’s continued assistance to the detective bureau as reasons for the promotions. McMillan will be assigned as midnight shift commander in the radio patrol division; Quesada will serve as a patrol squad sergeant.
Retired Woodbridge officer and councilman at large Brian Small offered brief remarks on behalf of former colleagues, and Councilwoman Lizbeth De Jesus said, “Ceremonies like this are important because it just shows the qualifications and the credentials that our police department and our police officers have.”
Both officers recited the oath of office before the dais. The ceremony included introduction of family, council members and township staff and concluded with congratulations from elected officials and department leadership.
Details of each officer’s service history and new assignments were presented at the meeting; the Woodbridge Police Department will list formal personnel records and assignments in its administrative files.
