The Woodbridge Township Council adopted three traffic ordinances at its meeting after opening and immediately closing a public hearing that drew no comments. The measures, all listed under Chapter 7 (traffic), add handicap parking spaces on Holly Street, Grove Street and Oakland Avenue; remove a handicap space on Lee Avenue; and add field intersections in the Ford section.
The public hearing on the three ordinances was opened by the council, and with no members of the public speaking the council moved to close the hearing and adopt the ordinances. The ordinances were then submitted to the mayor for approval as required by law.
The ordinances were presented together for second reading and adoption by consent. Council members asked no substantive questions during the hearing; council procedures recorded a typical ‘‘All in favor, aye’’ voice vote and the measures passed without recorded individual vote tallies in the meeting minutes.
The items were described by the council as Chapter 7 traffic changes; no technical traffic study or separate staff report was presented during the hearing. The council noted the statutory requirement to forward adopted ordinances to the mayor for signature and publication.
