Spring Valley board approves vacating five-foot easement for proposed truck-rental site after residents raise notice and safety concerns

The Spring Valley Town Board voted to approve a request to vacate a five-foot strip of right-of-way along Mohawk Street and separately approved design review for a proposed truck rental and sales facility with a fuel canopy on about 4.06 acres east of Mohawk Street in Spring Valley.

The project, described in the hearing as VSD-25-0373 (vacation) and DR-25-0372 (design review) for Diamond Mohawk CCA LLC, drew a large turnout of nearby residents who raised procedural and safety concerns and questioned whether they had received adequate notice. Taylor Erdman, representing the applicant for Kimley-Warren, told the board, "Our project here is a proposed trailer truck facility, with [a] fuel island and a commercial building for patrons and drivers to rent and fuel the trucks for use." Ryan Snicki, also with Kimley-Warren, answered technical questions about the site layout.
