County public works staff told the Board of Commissioners the Kellogg Road project will widen the roadway to roughly 28 feet, cut back slopes, add guardrail and replace drainage at the bottom of the grade. Staff described a reconfigured intersection referenced as "McKeil Alto" and said the final paved surface will be striped after current blacktop work is complete.
Staff said the Kellogg project is part of this year’s pavement-preservation package and that most related funding packages are being finalized for submission to state or federal programs. Temporary striping or markings are planned where new blacktop is still being placed, with final striping and a seal coat scheduled for next year. Staff also mentioned a county litter grant that will fund litter pickups timed with striping or construction cleanup.
On delineators and placement, staff said placement follows the county's table of spacing rules and that placement is closer on curves. Commissioners asked about durability; staff replied that some delineators will be damaged by vehicle traffic or snowplows and may need replacement over time.
No formal contract awards or votes were taken at the meeting. Staff said they are preparing the final project submissions and will return with more details and timelines as contract and pavement-preservation schedules are finalized.
