Rick Slaughter spoke during public comment on Sept. 10 urging the city to install a water fountain nearer the skate park and to address recurring dirt and small-rock debris in the bowl that he said caused injuries among teenagers.

Slaughter said an existing fountain is too far for many users and that the accumulation of dirt in the bowl creates a slipping hazard; he also mentioned restroom availability but acknowledged budget limits. The council did not take action at the meeting but the remark was added to the public-comment record for staff consideration during parks maintenance planning.
