The Fort Washington Board of Education met on Sept. 9, 2025, for a short session and unanimously approved a $78,504.79 grant from Heart Support Washington to fund 2025–26 student enrichment programming, accepted a television donated by the Shriver Athletic Hall of Fame Committee to showcase Hall of Fame inductees, adopted the Aug. 19, 2025, meeting minutes and approved the consent agenda. All formal votes were 6-0.
The meeting was opened by the district clerk acting as presiding officer, who called the roll and handled motions and votes. The board voted to adopt the meeting agenda and to approve minutes from the Aug. 19, 2025, POE meeting, each by voice vote recorded as 6-0. The consent agenda, which included the listed donations and other routine items, was also approved 6-0.
The board noted the Heart Support Washington award of $78,504.79 for the 2025–26 school year; the board described the funds as intended to provide additional enrichment programming for students. The Shriver Athletic Hall of Fame Committee was recognized for donating a television to display Hall of Fame inductees. Those items were included on the consent agenda and approved without separate discussion.
No executive session was held during this brief meeting. The board announced its next full meeting is scheduled for Sept. 16, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.; the district announced it expects to go into executive session as part of that meeting and to return to public session at about 7:30 p.m.
The session lasted only a few minutes and included no substantive debate on the listed donations or consent items; votes were procedural and unanimous.
