District reports on Infinite Campus migration: parent portal activations and schedule timelines

Port Washington — The district told the board on Aug. 5 that the migration to the Infinite Campus student information system remains on schedule and that parent and teacher activations are progressing. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Feeney said parent-portal activation rates at several schools are: Weber 67 percent, Guggenheim 70 percent and Schreiber 59 percent. He reported that Schreiber schedules are expected to be available the following week, Weber schedules by the end of August and elementary schedules on or around Aug. 21. Teacher access to the system will roll out next week for secondary staff and the following week for elementary teachers; secondary students will have access the week teacher access begins. The nut graf: the administration characterized the migration as on track while noting several training sessions and online-registration steps remain in the weeks before school begins. Dr. Feeney listed training and rollout items, including PPS staff training on July 23, secondary attendance training on Aug. 14, clerical Q&A on Aug. 28, teacher refresher on convocation day and additional clerical training in early September. He said the UPK (universal pre-K) portal will open to selected families next week and thanked the technology team for the progress. Ending: administration said the district is in a strong position heading into the start of the year but will continue training and activation efforts through late August and early September.
