New Fort Washington superintendent sworn in; proposes deputy superintendent title for long-serving administrator

Fort Washington — Dr. Posey was sworn in as superintendent of the Fort Washington Union Free School District at the board of education meeting on Aug. 5, 2025, and used his first public report to outline a fall listening tour and a set of near-term priorities. The oath of office was administered by the district clerk; immediately afterward Dr. Posey addressed the board and community, saying, “It's an honor to present my first superintendent's report here in Port Washington.” He described recent meetings with principals, facilities and union leaders and announced plans for a four-session in-person listening tour this fall and an online thought-exchange for community members who cannot attend in person. The recommendation was presented as an administrative personnel/title recognition rather than the result of a separate vote at that time. Board members welcomed Dr. Posey’s arrival and praised the early collaboration with district staff.
