Ruben Ayala, the district’s safety and crisis response administrator, read a prepared statement explaining that the audits test whether a campus is accessible to an unauthorized individual and help districts identify improvements to campus safety. Ayala told the board: "It is in the best interest of the students that the district does not share this information to the broader public, as it could lead to compromising important, campus security information." He added that specific details were discussed in executive session.
Trustees said they were aware parents and community members would be interested in the findings, but the district framed non-disclosure as a safety measure. No public release of the audit’s campus-level findings was authorized during the meeting.
